Hailing from Seppa, Arunachal Pradesh, Nishang comes from a family deeply rooted in politics. His father, a former Anchal Chairperson, and his mother, a Gram Panchayat and GPC member, have played significant roles in their community, while his brothers, former ZPMs, hold key positions in their village, Ganbara. Inspired by the legendary Muhammad Ali, he pursued amateur boxing, winning multiple state championships and earning a spot in a 46-day national camp. An injury kept him from competing at the national level, but he transitioned to professional boxing, debuting with Grassroot Boxing Academy in Bangalore with a victory. His second fight, part of the Super Boxing Fight Series, was another triumph, gaining invaluable experience and exposure thanks to his promoters.
